the completion of you

Herculean triumphs do not have to be rarities. You do not need candy to have a parade. If ever you had a witness who could verify your lost and forgotten task, that asshole would offer you a cookie they did not have or even intend to give. BUT it is DONE. IT IS OUT of the way.  On to SOMETHING NEW. That is what keeps the howl in the night. You learn that every task completed brings an extra set of energy that can be appropriated. BUT…

….once you KNOW WHAT’S KEEPING YOU UP AT NIGHT, and you Get THAT Out Of The Way; will it be easier to go to sleep? WHO knows, ask those who finished the list they had made for they day.

So here is my lesson /P.S.A.

A List a day, goes a long way.

That’s all; FOR NOW,

An Asshole Throwing Candy

1st off, welcome back all my die hard fan to Mutulu Kafele’s WTF  Blog! So let’s get down to business.

As most of you know I am a poet. I am so much of a poet that I have been known to represent myself as metaphorical relations to my actions, THE WIND. I am so much of a poet that I have been known to represent myself as WHITESIDE THE POET. And Whiteside the Poet is so much of a poet that he carries around custom fit poetry satchel.

POETRY+ (MAN’S PURSE)= POETRY MURSE/ SATCHEL= PURSE. Damn that pop culture arithmetic!

I am so much of a poet that I have been known to publish some of the creations that come out that POETIC MAN PURSE on a young and growing site by the name of Hello Poetry. I know what you are thinking; “Is he so much of a poet that he has now started to promote his own poetry for publication and purchase?!” The answer is YES. I also know what you are saying. “Is he so much of a poet that he is endorsing Hello Poetry as a site where other not as much of a poet as he is poets can do the same?!” The answer is YES and NO.

Truthfully, I was surprised when I Stumbled Upon © the Hello Poetry site. AND THEN, I became proud of them as I got involved ands saw what the site was about. AND THEN, I became moved as I became a contributor and supporter of others on site. AND THEN, they raised the bar yet again, by offering their member the opportunity to publish via ebook/paypal collections of poetry with sole rights to the author for any price the see fit, with 70% of price going to author. AND THEN, it was a minimum of $2. AND THEN, I sold two books. AND THEN, I bought a couple of books from the minimum price range of those that had the best pic/title. AND THEN, they offered an incentive to get people to use this feature and support the artist who were selling books; by the purchasers name where ever the name was to appear there was a star. SO THEN, I had a star by my name! AND THEN, they changed the star to a temporary sign for those who have recently “supported” an artist buy purchasing their poetry.

AND THEN they took my star away!

AND THEN THAT PISSED ME OFF!

SO here is the record of me being pissed off…

i noticed my support star is gone. I don’t know if the function was 86′d completely; considering how active i am in the site i think i should still have it and maybe there should be a tally system. comparing how many time one has replied to a poem and gives the average of words per reply.

Hello Poetry *Jun 15
The start comes from having supported other poets by purchasing one of their books. Everyone who has recently purchased a book, has a star next to their name.

i have purchased,Savage Therapy zehra yi?it; Discount Tobacco Derek Dale Frazier; Under the Sky, Looking Up Ethan Z; elemental Nashoba James, since the bookstore has been opened. though i don’t know your def of recently but if buying the books of poet that i do not know personally is not support then, your right, i have not recently supported any poet on this site.

Hello Poetry* Jun 16
Thank you for supporting those writers Mutulu. Yes, it is after buying books on this site within the last few weeks. It indicates that people have recently supported a poet on Hello Poetry.

Honestly, though this site does wonders for the creative mind, thinking that there is a consistent availability of purchase worthy poetry contained on one site, (no matter what stage of development) is an over optimistic thought. Close to unrealistic.
The latter statement only draws from the compatibility and ideology of what poets think “real” poetry is or should be; notwithstanding the economic anal retention that one encounters when deciding whether to buy a self-righteously price e-book with out a sample or more complete over view of the caliber of the author.
In short, who has money to spend/waste every few weeks on some undisclosed quality of bodies of work?
Well hello poetry, i see you wear your star proud, maybe the constellation of “supporting” an “artist” is charted for the elite and not the eloquent.

Hello Poetry Jun 21
Hi Mutulu,
If you’re interested in supporting a particular writer you admire, then buying their book is an ideal way to do so. Otherwise, you’re not obliged to “waste” money on other’s work.
What do you suggest we do differently?

well see that, and this is just from what I have gathered that Hello Poetry, not only wants to pay homage to those who have gotten their recognition, but also intends to have an outlet for those who feel they have a voice to contribute to the great orchestra of expression that is poetry. The former of which is easily attained by collecting previously well known volumes from our favorite staples, though the achievement of the latter has been the driving force behind the features and functions that Hello Poetry has been thinking and tinkering with, at least since I have been a member.

SO, WHAT DO I SUGGEST YOU DO DIFFERENTLY; a good question; that any ass-hole such as me would just keel over in excitement upon receiving. For it is a trumpet of charge for the onslaught of answers. BUT let me trade that trumpet in for a saxophone. MY SUGGESTIONS are as such. As afore mentioned in other exchanges, a SYSTEM THAT KEEPS TABS on each individuals use of your current features and functions could add a more VISUAL INCENTIVE for participation in those features that directly involve “exposure” to the contributing members. A system based on RATIOS AND AVERAGES sharing the similarities of a stat card or sports ticker. (ratio of responses per log in; average # of words per response) Allow the person receiving the responses the ability to label said response as constructive criticism, praise, bafflement; something reflecting the energy and purpose of the responder. With that each person who responds can acquire a certain persona that fits the character of not only their responses to others poetry but to the demeanor that they choose to present themselves with as a member of the Hello Poetry site. These suggestions are but features used on other sites (vbulletin, soc. net. sites) converted for functionality to Hello Poetry.

The star was a good idea but a true decorated soldier has many medals of boast and recognition. If people can have a record of their usage of the site that they as well as others can see and directly impact, I AM SURE, they well become more active.

Thank you for your time and energy YOU put in to Hello Poetry and thank you for the same you put in to replying back to me. I AM SURE, they well become more active. More ACTIVITY giving opportunity for more ARTIST  SUPPORT. Because in all, you guys want a more creative site and I just want my GODDAMN STAR BACK!

Chasing Carrots vs Riding Chariots

There has been several works of literature affirming the link between dreams and reality, I would really hate to add to that  pool of thought but I think it is necessary to do so, given the fact, that I am processing a long time dream as we speak. There have been several waking moments when the dream would drive by in a car and bade me to give chase, or flash in the back of my mind in a mad game of hide and think.”

There more aloof the dream the more brazen its attitude became. It was running around this world thinking that it was never meant for me to catch it. As if it’s main purpose in life was to prospect a barren heart for passion and then make a penthouse out of the abandon mine. As if it were a carrot that was fine and dandy on a string in front of my face while this stubborn jack ass kept the same pace. Not any more! While staring at this carrot and watching it swing as I walked I figured something out. THE JACK ASS HAS GOTTEN AN IDEA!!!!

1# I am going to walk as fast as I can

2# Then abruptly stop

3# This “dream carrots” reaction to the stop will be to swing away from my

4# And when it swings back the way the good Dr. Newton told me it would,

5# MUNCH!!

While a very younger ME was walking into a pool hall with an old friend, he pauses and refuses to go in with me because of my walk.  I was sure I had a slick strut. “What is wrong with the way I walk?” I inquired . He said,

Where Shoul I be

Where am I

‘”You are walking like you have never been though anything.”

Walk on my people, the carrot is yours.

The Month Starts When They Come Calling

So with the    “whatever” that makes the “stresses” of the “now” occur in the manner of which they like to occur,“Something” happened and “I” did not“respond” accordingly.

From the night’s cold carcass of Carpe Diem, the dreams are so lucid that ducking these seizures are the real business of the Day. Now that I have officially been awakened by the blunt-force kiss of Time, the Day will not only be seized, but also shared.

it begins from under the skin
